"How did you go love"? is the welcoming question and smile from Lil,our raffle lady for many years. . Beryl (LiIl) Renton, 84 years of age, could be said to be Knox Town Club's much loved matriarch. Lil officially started with the Club in April 1988 but left 6 months later in October 1988. Two years later (September 1998) she came back and has been here ever since- 22 years- a great achievement.

Lil started at Knox Town Club when it was based at Carrington Park Knoxfield, and when the Club moved to its present address, Lil naturally moved with it. Lil has never lost Graduate status. She started Town because of health issues and can happily report that she no longer needs to tale cholesterol tablets. She believes healthy eating, watching what she eats and a 35 minute walk every day is the key to her success.

Liil has one daughter Dianne, and two very special Grand children, Lisa 26 and Ashley 21. She loves gardening, sells poppies on Remembrance Day, and still works at the local football canteen on roster.

Everybody at the Club knows Lil. She enjoys people and with her lovely smile tries to give hope and encouragement to everyone trying to lose weight. She is our raffle lady and has also filled in as the "weigh in chick" She does find driving to Club in Winter difficult now but loves Club and finds the Summer nights much easier.

Lil finds group therapy is very beneficial for everybody- graduates and those still working towards their weight goal. She believes it provides encouragement and an opportunity for people to openly discuss their problems. In fact, Lil was explaining that many years ago, people who gained weight had to complete a form and explain why they had not succeeded. Lil maintains that facing up to the scales each week is a good test.

Holidays are not a problem for Lil and do not affect her constant aim of maintaining her current weight.
